My Recursive Writing Process

After completing the Recursive Writing Process handout, I realized how many useful skills I learned or continued to use in English 110. I hope to transfer many of the skills that I learned in English 110 to other classes. I will use the recursive writing process when I write other essays. I will continue to reread my essays, use global and local edits and edit my own papers and others. I will never have to take another english class, but I know that I will have to continue to write essays for all other classes. I didn’t always used to annotate readings but now that I have done it in English 110, I have learned how helpful annotating can be. I will definitely start to use annotations to my advantage in my other courses. Highlighting and taking notes is so helpful to go back and remember important points or questions that I have about the piece that I read. Annotating is also helpful to find quotes that can be used in papers that I will write. Keeping this handout and filling it out throughout the semester has been beneficial because it makes me think about what I do during the recursive writing process and remember all of the useful things that I can do, to both better my writing and understand others writing.
