There are many ways in which I could’ve used multimodal elements to add to my essay. In my essay I talk about narrative and the stories that I have heard. I used pictures, links and changed font, font size and font color. I think that pictures can be impactful, I used pictures that my mom took in my essay. I love looking at pictures to try and create meaning out of writing. I hope that when people read my essay they use the pictures to better understand my text. The link that is included in my essay goes to the podcast that I created with my mom. My mom talks about her life and growing up. I changed the color and font of sentences that I felt are important to my essay. I think that using multimodal elements in an essay creates something for the reader to look at and interpret why certain modes are incorporated into my essay. For this essay about narrative, I think that using multimodal elements really strengthens the essay. When I think of stories that are written, I think of the font that is used and the pictures that are alongside the writing. Writing, at least for me, can get boring sometimes when it is just text. I like to look at pictures that the author chose to put into their text. I think that different multimodal elements make a reader think and take the sometimes boring text and make it more interesting. I have never written anything using multimodal elements, but I really enjoyed writing this essay.
